Workshop in the children's innovation center

The Aeronautical Museum is in cooperation with the Children's Innovation Center gave a lecture and a workshop for children as part of the activities that are carried out during the summer camp in August. In order to promote the aviation vocation, curator pedagogue Manja Čajić and curator Mladen Radovanović held a presentation on the history of aviation, the development of domestic aviation, the rich cultural and industrial heritage, as well as the historical aircraft that the Aeronautical Museum inherits.

The Children's Innovation Center is an association dedicated to the education and science of children and youth in the field of technical sciences, which organizes courses, workshops and camps in Lego robotics and programming, encouraging creative and logical thinking, as well as teamwork. By organizing numerous workshops and educational events for children throughout the territory of Serbia, the STEAM learning system is promoted, with a focus on the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

The teams of the Children's Innovation Center participate in national and international robotics competitions, where they achieve notable results. In the course of preparations for going to the World Robotics Olympiad, summer camps are held in which visits to museums are organized in order to give children a practical introduction and encounter with what they are learning about at the camps. Since the Aeronautical Museum is currently closed to the public due to reconstruction work, the workshop was held in the premises of the Children's Innovation Center. The children had the opportunity to get acquainted with the general concepts of modern aviation, the types of aircraft that exist, the physics of flight, as well as many other important topics related to aviation. Also, as part of the workshop, the children had the opportunity to try on a pilot's helmet and sit in the pilot's seat, thus getting to know the pilot's job more closely.
