9. The Days of Slovenian Film
As part of the 9th "Days of Slovenian Film" review, held at the Yugoslav Cinematheque from 7-10 December 2023, the first episode of the series "Slovenes in Belgrade" was shown, dedicated to aviation pioneer Edvard Rusjan.
As part of its media program, the Society of Slovenians "Sava" realized a documentary series called "Slovenes in Belgrade", which is dedicated to famous people of Slovenian origin, who left a significant mark in our capital city, among whom is the aviation pioneer Edvard Rusjan - the man who flew a plane over Belgrade long ago in 1911. This episode was realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and the Aeronautical Museum, which owns original artifacts related to the Russian's flight, such as a part of the rib from the wing of his plane.
The president of the Belgrade Society of Slovenians "Sava" and co-producer of the film Saša Verbič participated in the discussion after the film screening, as well as director Vladimir Šojat and Mirjana Novaković Munišević, senior curator of the Aeronautical Museum who participated in the film.
