Celebrating International Women's Day

March 8 - International Women's Day is traditionally celebrated at the Aeronautical Museum. The female colleagues were presented with gifts by the museum collective, as well as orchids and congratulations sent by the Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić on the occasion of International Women's Day to all members of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces.

March 8 is marked as International Women's Day and is celebrated all over the world. This day has its roots in women's struggle for equality, rights and social justice. Women's Day was created as a result of labor movements at the beginning of the 20th century, when women, especially workers, demanded better working conditions, the right to vote and equality in society.

The first International Women's Day was celebrated in 1909 in the United States of America, while March 8 became an internationally recognized date in 1910, at the Second International Socialist Women's Conference in Copenhagen. Today, this day is used as an opportunity to remember the achievements of women, but also the inequalities and challenges still present in many parts of the world.
