Kluz PS-11 (Parachute)
Considering the needs of our aviation, in 1934 the parachute factory "Knebl and Ditrich" was opened in Indjija, which produced parachutes under the license of the American manufacturer Irwin. By 1941, about 2.500 pilot, reconnaissance and landing parachutes were produced there.
After the war, production was restored in 1947 in the renamed "Franjo Кluz" factory, which moved to Belgrade in 1951. By 1990, more than 44.000 parachutes were produced in "Kluz" for various purposes - pilot, landing, reserve, braking, school, sports... Almost 80 percent of this production was intended for export.
The example on display is a sports parachute of the "wing" type with the possibility of use in military special units of the PS-11 type. The construction of the dome and the control system allows the parachutist to "glide" under command during the fall and thus fly a certain distance, during which he can land exactly at the desired place. It appeared in 1977, and this type of parachute was used by our national team at the 14th World Championship in 1978.
