Utva 65 S "Privrednik"

By making airplanes for all purposes, the "Utva" Aircraft Factory also made a contribution to agricultural aviation. The Utva "Privrednik" is the first purpose-built agricultural aircraft of domestic construction and production, where a lot of components from the Utva 66 aircraft were used. This aircraft was used for agricultural work, for spraying fields and mosquitoes.

It was developed at the "Utva" Aircraft Factory in 1965 and was serially produced in two variants, with the second version (65S) having a stronger engine. Already in 1967, a more powerful version of the Utva 67 "Privrednik 2" aircraft was developed. When designing the plane, great attention was paid to the safety of the pilot, a reinforced cabin was made, as well as side exits from the cabin for the event of the plane overturning.

In Yugoslavia, Utva-65 aircrafts were used by agricultural
collectivities and for the mosquito suppression. It proved to be a reliable and economical aircraft, so a number of this aircrafts were exported to Asian and African countries. The Algerian airline began operations in 1968, using five Utva-65 aircrafts. The last, out of a total of 69 produced aircrafts "Privrednik", was withdrawn from service in 1986.

Displayed example of the Utva 65 has been in the collection of the Aeronautical Museum since 1986, when it was handed over from "Agricultural aviation" from Vršac.
