Roda
The need for modernization of pilot-glider training system led to the construction of the two-seater glider "Roda" (eng. "Stork") . Its appearance made it possible to triple the number of trained pilots at the same time with significantly lower flying costs. The idea of making a glider that would enable quick and easy training encouraged engineer Ivan Šoštarić to construct a two-seater gldier for initial training in 1951.
Due to its simple design and construction, it was serially produced at the "Jastreb" factory in Vršac. In the 1960s, it was supplanted by more modern gliders, but it contributed to the advanced development of domestic gliding training. Roda is the first serially produced domestic two-seater gldier. On the permanent display of the Aeronautical Museum there is one example of a Roda glider.
