Jastreb 54

Jastreb (eng."The Hawk") is a single-seat school glider for intermediate training, with non-retractable cushioned landing skis under the hull. It was constructed in 1940 and the prototype flew in 1946. It was serially produced in the Pančevo factory "Utva" and "Letov" from Ljubljana. Thanks to its excellent flight characteristics, it was very popular among glider pilots. In order to enable the performance of basic acrobatics, a modification was made in 1954 and the wings were strengthened with struts.

Two examples of this glider, manufactured at the "Letov" factory, are preserved in the Aeronautical Museum. The exhibited Jastreb 54 was included in the collection of the Aeronautical Museum in 1971 as a gift from the Belgrade Aeroclub.
