Lockheed T-33A (IT-33A)

The American aircraft Lockheed T-33 was constructed on the basis of the fighter aircraft Lockheed P-80 "Shooting star" and had a reconnaissance and training purpose. Due to its exceptional flight characteristics, it has been used in over 30 countries around the world.

After the resolution of the
Cominform in 1948 and the termination of cooperation with the USSR, which stopped the delivery of Soviet military equipment, Yugoslavia began cooperation with Western countries. As part of that cooperation, the first Lockheed T-33 landed at the Batajnica airport on March 10 in 1953.

The exhibit is a Yugoslav modification of the basic version into a reconnaissance version, marked IT-33A.
